The Democratic Perfect Storm

Many have noticed that Barack Obama’s acceptance speech tonight will occur on the 45th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr’s “I have a dream” speech. Someone just pointed out to me that during the Democratic convention we’ve also seen the 88th anniversary of women getting the right to vote (August 26, 1920 — 19th amendment certified) and, yesterday, the 100th birthday of President Lyndon B. Johnson, who signed the 1960s noteworthy civil rights protections into law.

I wonder if John McCain believes in omens.
