Today, the roommate and I went to the Savor Craft Beer Festival in Washington, D.C. We sampled brews from different craft brewers from all over the United States and attended a brief lecture on how to pair beer with different food featuring, among others, Jim Koch, the founder of Boston Beer Company (Sam Adams). It was a lot of fun. The food was great–especially the food/beer pairings we tried during Koch’s presentation. Pairing food and beer is just as complex as pairing food and wine, and don’t let the wine snobs tell you otherwise. I also developed a new appreciation for IPAs.
