You’ll Have to do Better

This is one of the more pathetic arguments in favor of gay ordination I’ve come across. Professor of women’s studies and religion Mary Zeiss Stange argues that a 21st-century Luther would favor ordination of non-celibate homosexuals and gay marriage because of his theology of “priesthood of all believers” and his desire for unification in the church. Sadly, the post’s comments display a greater familiarity with Luther’s teachings on gender and the family than this college prof. Martin Luther was many things, but he, as Al Mohler points out, was not much of a liberal.
