The Conservative Case for…Hillary?

Bruce Bartlett is arguing in National Review that 2008 is a lost cause for the Republicans, so conservatives should back Hillary Clinton to make the best of a bad situation. Frankly, that’s ridiculous. Picking Hillary because she’s the most “conservative” of the Democrats makes no sense for the GOP. And isn’t it a little early to be thinking such thoughts? The full field isn’t even in play yet (I’m looking at you, Fred Thompson). A year and a half is a long time in politics.

It is getting a little chilly in here…

  1. Bartlett’s argument is silly. Nothing like giving up several months before the first primary.
