Ok, so, over the weekend my hard drive died. It wasn’t even three years old and was showing no obvious signs of fatigue. My computer had been operating poorly in recent weeks, but there was no indication that the hard drive was causing it. In fact, the power supply or bad memory seemed more likely suspects given the symptions.
Anyway, a years worth of photographs (except for what my brother has on CD and what I’ve posted here) are gone, along with most of my music, personal documents created in the last three years, my Microsoft Money information (personal finances from scratch, woohoo!), and almost all of the email I’ve received since 1998. Today’s lesson is back up your files, early and often.
Actually, the lesson, as always, is I’m an idiot.
