With the housing bubble bursting (“about time!” says renting 20-something), this web site is poised to become your new best friend and your realtor’s worst nightmare. Zillow, currently in beta, shows you how much your house is worth, how much your neighbor’s house is worth, and superimposes that information overtop a Google-like map. If the information is available, it will also show you the type of house it is (single family, condo, etc.), the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, the square footage, the lot size, and the year of construction. I don’t even own a house and I think this is cool.
Go ahead, check the value of your house. Track it over time. And watch your neighbor’s property taxes go up. (hat tip to Ben Kepple)
