Bush 2004 campaign blogger Patrick Ruffini has an early poll on the 2008 GOP presidential primary and is soliciting votes. The players are Rudy Giuliani, George Allen, Bill Frist, John McCain, and Mitt Romney. I cast my vote for my own senator, George Allen of Virginia, because you gotta back the local boy. Any of the names listed would be acceptable to me, though I think Frist and Romney have the most to prove. Frist’s tenure at the helm of the Senate hasn’t been perfect, while the Massachusetts Morman has to prove he can be re-elected first. Or rather, he has to get his approval rating out of the low 40s first.
